Position Title: Board Member

Overview:

RedSky Money is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to serve on its Board of Directors. Board Members play a vital role in guiding the organization’s overall direction, ensuring sound governance, and contributing to its success in achieving its mission. This volunteer position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in young professionals’ financial journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Governance and Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the organization’s mission, goals, and policies. Actively participate in key decision-making processes.
2. Fiduciary Responsibility: Ensure the financial health of the organization by participating in the development and approval of budgets, reviewing financial reports, and supporting fundraising efforts.
3. Legal and Ethical Compliance: Ensure the organization operates within legal and ethical guidelines. Monitor and address any potential conflicts of interest.
4. Fundraising and Advocacy: Contribute to fundraising efforts, leveraging personal networks and resources. Advocate for the organization’s mission and programs in the community.
5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and work collaboratively with other board members and staff to develop and implement risk management strategies.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, staff, and the community.
7. Evaluation and Impact Assessment: Participate in the assessment and evaluation of the organization’s programs and initiatives to ensure they align with the mission and have a measurable impact.
8. Board Development: Contribute to the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing development of board members. Participate in board training and development opportunities.

Areas of Expertise:

We are seeking individuals with expertise in the following fields:

ü  Personal Finance Professional: CFP, AFC, ChFC, CPFC, CIMA, AIF, CPM, CFEP, CIIP, PFS, etc.

ü  Fundraising/Development: Grant writer, Donor liaison, Fundraising Strategist

ü  Communications: Marketing, Public Relations, Website, Social Media

ü  Technology: CRM, DBA, CMS, Security

ü  Outreach: Collegiate Alumni relations, Corporate EAP, Fraternity/Sorority Relations

Qualifications:

• Commitment to the mission and values of RedSky Money.
• Leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, business, or community.
• Knowledge of governance best practices and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Time Commitment:

Board Members are expected to commit approximately 12 hours per quarter including attendance at board meetings and committee meetings.
